Elma Marie Petrie was a homemaker, raising four children and, in later life, worked at Reader’s Digest in Chappaqua. A lover of Renaissance art, she volunteered as a docent at Reader’s Digest giving tours of the art collection of founders DeWitt and Lila Bell Wallace.

Elma was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bedford for 45 years before moving to Fort Collins, Colo., in 2022.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henry J. Petrie. She is survived by her children, Thomas, Margaret, Henry and Elizabeth; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held April 1, 2025, at 10 a.m., at St. Patrick’s Church, located at 7 Pound Ridge Road, Bedford. Burial of her ashes will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at  575 Hillside Ave., White Plains.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Salesian Missions, 2 Lefevre Lane, New Rochelle, NY, 10801-5710.
